South Gloucestershire Council traded Education Welfare Service supports schools to increase and sustain positive school attendance. It can do this through working with schools, children and families, linking with other agencies including the Family Intervention Support Service (FISS), the Youth Intervention Support Service (YISS) and health professionals. If necessary we can support schools through the non-attendance legal process.
If you have any concerns about the attendance of a student or questions about attendance data and strategies to improve school attendance that you would like to discuss with an Education Welfare Officer please contact Amanda Roberts or Christine Dadd (contact details below). They can offer advice and support to schools, from analysis of data to home visits. Various levels of subscription are available to suit the needs of individual schools. Christine or Amanda will be happy to discuss this with you.
