 Lesson Plans documents

  • KS1 Cultural Awareness - Homes Lesson PlanThis lesson plan was devised by one of our Traveller Education Service teachers at ACTES. It was used in Reception, Y1 and Y2 classes in a variety of South Gloucestershire Schools. Some of the resources used in conjunction with the lesson plan were our Story Sacks and Homes Resources, as well as wooden models of traditional Gypsy wagons and trailers to encourage play.

  • KS2 Cultural Awareness - Using Information Books in LiteracyThis lesson plan for Y3 and Y4 pupils was devised by one of our Traveller Education Service teachers at ACTES. The reading of a variety of information books in small groups and reporting to the whole class was very successful in empowering a Traveller child in a Year 3 class and raising his self-esteem. All the children enjoyed this topic, and especially doing the quiz at the end.
