The HR for Schools Section forms part of the Integra Schools, and offers a full range of HR services which are designed to support schools in meeting their substantial staff employment responsibilities. The services offered range from support with whole school management and policy through to day-to-day support with HR administration and pre-payroll activities.
The HR Management support service is provided by an experienced and knowledgeable group of officers, dedicated to meeting the HR requirements of schools, and to assist Headteachers and their Governing Bodies in exercising their delegated responsibilities for staff employment matters. We have a proved track record in service delivery to South Gloucestershire schools, based upon our 3 R’s of reliability, responsiveness and relationships.
Schools are provided with named HR staff who can provide readily accessible advice and guidance on routine or complex matters through email, telephone or personal contact, plus published briefings and internet materials.
The service includes: advice and guidance on general employment legislation and its implications at school level; interpretation and application of the terms and conditions of employment for teaching and support staff; advice on staffing structures and associated pay and grading determination; advice on employment aspects of safeguarding responsibilities, including safer recruitment and single central record; practical support with the management of whole school or individual casework under relevant policies or procedures.
An established partnership with the payroll service provides reliable and effective HR administration for contract and payroll purposes, and a realistically priced annual subscription provides comprehensive support to meet variable needs. You get support when you need it, reassurance when you don’t and we can call upon legal advice where appropriate.
HR Management Support may also be purchased on a consultancy basis to undertake or contribute to school defined activities.
This service is essential for schools who use the SGC payroll service. In addition to specific pre-payroll activities, the service provides valuable support to school administrators.
Our aim is to provide accurate and reliable information and guidance to assist with schools’ HR administration and payroll requirements. We act as the interface between the school and SGC payroll services and provide invaluable support to school administrators and the service includes: advice and support on matters relating to appointments, variations and terminations of employment for contracted employees; pre-payroll scrutiny of documentation submitted; undertaking checks on qualified teacher status and registration; supporting safeguarding through carrying out checks on the relevant barring lists, processing DBS disclosure applications for employees (subject to external DBS fee); preparing and issuing contracts of employment, administration of maternity and adoptions leave provision. We provide supporting Administration Notes (HRANS) and respond to specific queries.
Schools are supported by a team of dedicated HR Assistants who have access to colleagues with specific expertise e.g. relating to DBS checks, and can refer complex issues where necessary.
